Lem Tingley

Chief Growing Officer

My wife Liz and I acquired Growing Spaces in April 2018.  We were initially attracted to the company as a Colorado-based manufacturing company making innovative and environmentally friendly products.  We were excited to promote sustainable and healthy lifestyles through the manufacturing and installation of the Growing Dome.

I graduated from CU Boulder in Mechanical Engineering, and have been working for Colorado based manufacturing companies for the last 25 years.  My core values revolve around efficiency, superior quality, exemplary customer experience and conscious business practices.  We look forward to expanding our services, improving our capabilities and enabling more customers to grow healthy and nutritious food year-round without external power!

Liz Tingley is a VP of Operations for a payment integrity provider to the healthcare industry.  We live in Golden, CO with our three teenage boys.  We love to travel, ski, hike, play board games and watch our boys play soccer.

Destiney Hilsabeck

Controller

I began working with Growing Spaces in the spring of 2011. Hired to answer telephones, I was soon coordinating our installation teams for builds and maintenance, as well as processing parts orders and offering customer support. Having grown up living off the grid, I learned the importance of renewable resources and conservation at an early age. Growing Spaces has helped me to foster these lessons from my childhood as well as help guide me towards a healthier lifestyle. I like to spend my free time with family and friends on the river- rafting or tubing. Also playing with my two dogs. Come winter, I like to snowboard, but am also a sucker for cuddling up by a warm fire with a good book.

Kaylin Willis

Human Resources

Kaylin is part of the Human Resources Department here at Growing Spaces. She grew up in Pagosa Springs and has a great love for her hometown. She left Pagosa after graduating high school to see other parts of the country. She has lived in multiple places around the U.S. including Washington D.C., San Antonio, and Denver. While in San Antonio, she attended Alamo Colleges and obtained her Business Degree with a focus on human resources and small business management. She then came back home to become a part of our team here in Pagosa.

Kaylin learned the importance of self-sustainability from her mother who has always been an avid gardener. She truly appreciates garden grown vegetables over what you get at the market. During her time away from work, Kaylin enjoys Navajo Lake in the summer and snowboarding at Wolf Creek in the winter. Her passion for photography comes from growing up in such a beautiful place. Above all spending time with her family and friends is most important to her.

Matt DeGuise

Production and Installation Manager

I have worked at Growing Spaces since 2011, starting as a dome installer, later as the Production Manager, and now as Installation, Maintenance and Turn-Key Greenhouse support and project management. When working in the shop I prefer to listen to Sirius XM channel 23 the Grateful Dead or channel 60 Outlaw Country. In my free time I enjoy gardening, rafting, and hiking with my wife and dog. I spend my winters as a ski instructor, but look forward to returning to Growing Spaces every spring.

Kenzie Jackson

Director of Marketing

I studied marketing at Eastern Illinois University and have been working as the Marketing Director at Growing Spaces since May 2019. What I love most about my job is getting to tell the stories of our customers in our  featured dome articles. It’s all about connecting through storytelling, and it’s pretty cool to see all the different ways people use our greenhouses.

When I’m not at work, I’m usually out enjoying everything Colorado has to offer especially the skiing. I live in Morrison, up at 8200 feet where it is hard to be a gardener. I don’t have my own Growing Dome yet, but it’s definitely on my wish list.

Jason Perry

Growing Dome Advisor

My time with Growing Spaces began in 2023. In the last 20 years I explored many roles and opportunities in fields such as avian conservation, wildland firefighting, meteorology, construction, and retail grocery management. I feel like my connection with nature began intuitively at a young age, nothing could keep me indoors, and my experiences as an adult, whether participating in a college community garden, bicycle-touring throughout the US, or exploring any place where I found myself, all furthered my love of the life that is always present underfoot.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Texas A&M University and spent time studying marine biology before finishing with the weather degree. Learning is my favorite endeavor and I approach customer service with the belief that every person deserves respect and has something to teach me.

I am very happy to represent Growing Spaces and excited to guide our fellow Dome enthusiasts along their path to ownership and into the culture of love and community that we have fostered for 30 years.

Shelby Lucero

Social Media Coordinator

I graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2018 with a BA in Environmental Studies. I tried my hand at working in the corporate finance world, but quickly realized that I needed to do something more fulfilling. I began working for Growing Spaces during August of 2020 and have had the pleasure of working in many departments. I enjoy being a part of this amazing team that helps others achieve their dream gardens!

In my spare time I enjoy working in the 15’ Growing Dome that my husband and I share. (We love this company and product so much that we both work here!) I also enjoy paddle boarding the high alpine reservoirs with my pup, spending time with family, and relaxing in the natural hot springs.

Richard Miller

Growing Dome Educator and Customer Success Adviser

Greetings All, Richard Miller here! I’m a Vietnam veteran, master gardener and the retired vent maker. I used to make all the vents for each Growing Dome and did for as long as I can remember. Years ago, I was a professional in commercial steel design, fabrication, and erection. Awarded even, several times, however that didn’t stop the company I worked for from filing bankruptcy and, sorry to say, losing my full retirement! Now that I look back on it, if that didn’t happen I would never be writing this. I wouldn’t have had the time of building vents for each and everyone of you. And now, I get to share even more of my time in your gardening adventure as the Growing Spaces educator and ambassador! Be it backyard gardener, communities or a school to add gardening to curriculum, I am there. What an honor to support you all in your Growing Dome experience!
